About the Role

You will teach and conduct research in Creative Writing, focusing on multimodal forms. You'll contribute to teaching at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels, engage in research activities, and participate in the development of national and international institutional partnerships while promoting respectful and inclusive behaviours among colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

Subject coordination, preparing and marking assessments, selecting and supervising tutors, and consulting with students.
Delivering subjects, such as preparing and conducting lectures, tutorials, and seminars.
Contributing to curriculum design and innovation, including cross-disciplinary approaches.
Developing technology-based teaching, learning, and assessment programs and resources.
Who We Are Looking For

You will demonstrate teaching excellence across various forms of modern multimodal writing, including screenplays, podcasts, and serial storytelling. Your role is pivotal in shaping the next generation of creative writers, so you will demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical responsibility, social justice, and widening access to writing education. You will balance your time effectively between teaching, research, and leadership, contributing significantly to the program's academic growth, and demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to inclusive behaviours.

You will also have:

Completed PhD in a relevant discipline, with specialisation in screenwriting.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including curriculum design, subject coordination, and supervision of Honours and postgraduate theses.
Profound understanding of diverse student learning orientations and facilitating inclusive learning environments.
Strong research record with distinctive, impactful creative and scholarly outputs, and an ability to secure research grants and forge ethical relationships within writing communities and industries.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
