EY’s Transaction Strategy and Execution (TSE) Technology team is growing. We are looking for motivated individuals with experience in technology to join our highly dynamic team of M&A technology advisors and:

• Apply your business and technology skills to support clients through the M&A lifecycle from strategic analysis through to deal execution
• Serve a diverse range of clients from the government to large corporations and private equity firms
• Work directly with key business stakeholders, including C-Suite to develop and execute IT integration or separation projects

About the Team

Our Transactions Strategy and Execution (TSE) Technology team are one of the market leaders in M&A consulting. We execute some of Australia’s most interesting transactions across entrepreneur-backed and family-owned businesses, government and corporate Australia. The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Consultant within the Transaction Strategy and Execution (TSE) Technology team based in our Sydney Office, where you will support clients throughout the deal life cycle, including analysing IT environments and providing key insights from your experience as an IT professional. Our services range from complex IT M&A due diligence, M&A IT projects (post-merger IT integration, IT carve out/separation) and post deal value enhancement. This role is offered on a flexible part-time or full-time basis.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead the analysis to develop the separation or integration hypothesis before the deal is signed
• Lead the delivery of IT post-merger integration and IT separation/carve-out projects from inception to completion
• Engage with key decision makers to drive success in the design and implementation of their technology separation or integration roadmap, including strategy definition, target operating model design, Day 1 / Day 100 integration/separation planning and execution
• Build and maintain effective client relationships with senior stakeholders and be accountable for a high degree of client satisfaction
• Keep up to date with all the latest IT industry trends on topics such as enterprise IT infrastructure, application migration, cybersecurity and analytics

Skills and attributes for success

• Professional experience and/or an educational background in Technology
• IT project management – led medium to large IT project teams
• Business and commercial mindset – ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate sound business acumen to drive value for our clients
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to critically present information in a structured way, both in workshops and report format
• Problem-solving – ability to deal with ambiguous circumstances and take an assumptions-based approach to drive IT project outcomes
• Relationship management – develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior clients, with the ability to influence, advise and support key decision makers
• Technical knowledge – demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of corporate IT environments with knowledge across key IT areas such as infrastructure, IT strategy, applications and IT service delivery
• People development – coach and mentor junior team members to support achievement of their career goals

Ideally, you’ll also have

• 2-5 years of IT, Management Consulting or Professional Services experience
• Experience executing corporate IT projects in complex business environments
• Team leadership, experience leading small sized teams
• The ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally
• Established networking skills in a relevant industry

The minimum annual salary for this position is $$90,000 super inclusive.
