Thales Australia is searching for a Senior Sales Engineer to be based at our Sydney Olympic Park location.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
A technical pre-sales consultant for the Thales Cloud Protection and Licensing (CPL) team, representing the Thales CPL products and solutions, who works closely with the sales team to advocate CPL solutions and delivers the business target assigned to the A/NZ region.
Collaborates with the entire CPL team (Marketing, operations…) to demonstrate Thales solutions to prospects, existing customers and resellers.
Answer customer queries on CPL products, discovers customer requirements and pain points related data security and data protection.
Technical advisory to customers, guides customers on security best practices to solve their business problems\ and leads customers to success with CPL security solutions.
Works closely with the Professional Services Team to deliver Proof of Concepts to customers.
Prepares technical proposals and solution architecture documents for RFP responses.
Conduct technical workshops and training for resellers and customers.
Gathers on-going prospect/customer feedback and related information.
Deliver remote and field-based product installations, problem resolution and has technical know-how on product integrations.
Deliver presentations at industry conferences, seminars, and Thales marketing events
Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge on Thales CPL product portfolio
Contributes and shares demonstrations and technical know-how to the regional and global SE community.
Experience:
A degree in a computer-related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Analysis, etc.) or a similar discipline. Any additional business-related education would be a plus. Demonstrable experience in the IT field, ideally IT Security, working within a Pre-Sales, Consultancy or Technical Support role.
7+ years experiance in technology pre-sales role, partnering with sales team on technological support of high value customer focused solutions centred on IT Systems / Security.
Sound experience and domain knowledge of data protection technologies inclusive of encryption solutions (such as database encryption, cloud security, Payments, file/OS, email, data loss prevention, PKI, etc.)
A CISSP, CISM, AWS Solutions Architect (Professional), Microsoft Azure Architect Design, or Google Professional Cloud Architect qualification would be useful for this role. The candidate should have gained these certifications, or be keen to do so.
The ideal candidate would have at least some previous exposure to one or more areas in database/file encryption, tokenization, Hardware Security Modules, PKI, Windows and Unix Operating Systems, Networking or Payment Card Industry Security. Thales leadership qualities: Self-Managed, team player, agile, able to shape solutions out of complexity as well as customer focused.
Experience with big data architectures and security such as Cloudera/Hadoop and Teradata.
The Candidate should be familiar with cloud computing, able to demonstrate workload deployment and security consideration on public cloud like AWS, Google and Azure.
The candidate shall have an understanding of the software development process and languages such as Java, Go, .NET, C, REST, Web Services and modern dev/ops processes and methodologies.
Some knowledge in payment transaction security is required.
