An exciting opportunity exists for the Clinical Nurse - Emergency Department Mental Health to provide specialist intake assessment, consultation, education and support to Emergency Department staff when making decisions regarding interventions and management of mental health consumers. The CN's role is to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice and is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They also have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation. The SCUH (Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Birtinya) and Nambour General Hospital Emergency Department Mental Health (EDMH) team provide 24-hour access to specialist mental health and addiction expertise.
