Swicker’s Kingaroy Bacon Factory Pty Ltd is an export meat processing facility, based in the South Burnett Region and is ideally located just 2 - 3 hours’ drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. Swicker’s has been in operation in Kingaroy for over 50 years and today employs approximately 750 employees.
As part of the Sunpork Group, Swicker’s is a state-of-the-art processing facility specialising solely in the production of fresh pork and distributing it widely across Australia and internationally. Swicker’s processes 95% of all Queensland’s pork production, including the production of various pork value-add products for consumers worldwide. The opportunity:
Our drive is to continuously improve and increase our sites capacity, efficiencies and preventative maintenance systems and processes. To support these initiatives, we are investing resourcing into our maintenance department, and we are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner (Kill Floor) to join our team.
Reporting to the Site Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for reducing equipment unplanned downtime and increasing kill floor machine availability and reliability. Main tool of success and structure will be driven through MEX and efficient use of this critical reliability tool.
Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Daily equipment inspection and corrective work identification;
• Daily conversation with production staff to identify areas of improvement;
• Planning of corrective work for the kill floor department;
• Attending planning/scheduling/ weekend work meetings;
• Communication with suppliers and contractors;
• Production personnel and Management;
• Obtaining 2-3 quotes on all planned works spare parts;
• Regular review of the critical spare parts for the kill floor;
• Continual review of planned work schedules, execution of job outcomes and MEX tubs;
• Ensure accuracy of Asset Tree in CMMS system MEX;
• Ensure accuracy and detail of PM Plan in MEX to deliver site compliance and asset reliability/uptime.
• Ensure Major Maintenance Activities, legislative/compliance/OEM, are recorded and planned/scheduled via MEX System;
• Liaise with store person on a regular basis each week, to review parts, stock, and MEX.
What we’re looking for
Swicker’s has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team. As a key member you will have:
• Trade qualification – Mechanical Fitting or similar;
• Strong and proven background in Maintenance Planning/Reliability Role > 5 yrs.;
• Exposure/training in MEX system or equivalent system;
• Strong FMCG Background;
• Microsoft Office, Open Office, computer skills essential;
• Strong communication skill;
• In-house or formal planning/scheduling training/qualification.
Salary range: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 p.a. plus superannuation. This role is on paid on Salary at an average of 48 hours per week.
