Moderna's commitment to advancing the technological frontier of mRNA medicines ensures a challenging and rewarding career experience with the potential to make a significant impact on patients' lives worldwide.

Moderna is committed to enhancing Australia's biotech landscape through a long-term partnership that focuses on strengthening pandemic resilience. Our Melbourne-based large-scale mRNA vaccine manufacturing facility will be a cornerstone in Australia's ability to respond to future health threats efficiently. This collaboration not only brings cutting-edge medical technology to the forefront but also emphasizes job creation and local talent development. We're inviting visionary professionals to be part of this transformative journey, making a tangible impact on global health security.

Moderna is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager Planning to join our Supply Chain Planning team at our Melbourne, Australia location. This pivotal role involves leading site planning processes, developing SAP/APO functionality, and delivering effective production plans for Moderna's innovative products. If you are passionate about playing a key role in a highly collaborative environment and eager to make an immediate impact, we invite you to apply.

Here's What You’ll Do:

Within 3 Months, You Will…

  • Initiate Leadership in Site Planning: Take charge of the site planning processes, facilitating critical discussions with department heads, production managers, and other key stakeholders. These discussions will focus on aligning weekly and monthly production goals with company-wide objectives.

  • Implement Global Standards: Apply Moderna's global supply chain standards to local operations, ensuring consistency and efficiency in site planning processes. This will involve adapting and integrating best practices and guidelines from the global team into the Laval site's unique context.

  • Enhance Collaboration for Tactical Planning: Work closely with the Global Supply Chain (SC) Planning team to translate broader tactical plans into detailed, site-specific strategies. This will include adapting these plans to fit the unique production capabilities and constraints of the Laval site.

Within 6 Months, You Will…

  • Optimize Production and Supply Plans: Take full control of the short-term production, release, and supply plans. This involves identifying potential deviations from expected due dates and promptly addressing these issues through well-structured internal governance meetings.

  • Strengthen Collaboration with Warehouse Operations: Work in tandem with the warehouse operations lead to support the site supply chain lead. This collaboration aims at setting clear supply priorities and ensuring consistent and efficient material flow to meet production demands.

  • Capacity Planning and Risk Management: Oversee the site's capacity for Drug Substance (DS) production over tactical horizons. You will be responsible for optimizing this capacity based on inputs from the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, and supporting the development of a comprehensive and optimized production plan, highlighting major risks, necessary decisions, and preparing materials for monthly supply review processes.

Within 12 Months, You Will…

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead the charge in continuously enhancing the site's supply chain processes. This will involve identifying areas for improvement, developing strategies for optimization, and implementing these changes effectively.

  • Performance Monitoring and Problem Resolution: Conduct regular performance evaluations, focusing on metrics such as on-time supply to plan, inventory levels versus target, and critical material inventories. Utilize root cause analysis to pinpoint systemic issues and lead the charge in resolving these issues, ensuring that target performance levels are consistently achieved.

  • Material Availability and Data Management: Collaborate closely with the Global Material Planning team to ensure material availability on a weekly and monthly basis. You will also be responsible for maintaining adequate planning and master data parameters, such as Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ), Lead Times, and order frequency, in close collaboration with master data management and the global supply chain team.
