The Opportunity
This is a project specific position and will support a full planning schedule alongside a Lead Planner and team. We are seeking an experienced project planner with an understanding of heavy industry construction and engineering. We have LOCAL and FIFO options available.
Contributing to the success of the project by assisting to schedule and monitor resources, the successful candidate can expect to extend their established career and be ready to take that next step into a Senior Planning role following project completion.

Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor production with a focus on insuring correct resources are deployed to each project
Produce plans and schedules of work including visual aids such as bar charts, procedures and diagrams
Utilise specialist fabrication and planning software such as Primavera to determine schedules
Prepare logistics plans and progress schedules for projects
Monitor project progress throughout fabrication period
Compare progress with client programs and maintain contract deadlines
Liaise with clients and subcontractors where necessary
Provide advice on the development of specific scheduling systems and software
Maintain historical data for projects
Select appropriate techniques, sequences and equipment for all projects
Analyse fabrication methods and systems with a continuous focus on improvement and cost savings
Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed
Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed
About You
Essential
Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, civil engineering or construction management
Proficient skills and knowledge in Primavera 6 is essential
Prior experience, in a heavy construction planning role
Previous project experience on Construction Projects ideally in the mining or oil and gas sector
Minimum 2 years of experience
