Role Highlights
Position: Pig Production Growout Manager
Reporting to: Livestock Production Manager
Core Responsibility: working with our farm operations team, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the free range, pig growout farm including some general upkeep of the facilities and site.
What type of work will I be doing in this role?
This role is predominantly hands-on livestock management and will suit someone who likes the outdoors, is fit and mobile, and enthusiastic about free range farming; some administration work with OHS documentation, KPI’s and essential ordering; work within the broader Livestock Management team to achieve agreed KPI’s; you need to be the kind of person who can work to the Company’s requirements including our high welfare standards, and do so safely; monitor and manage the health of the livestock; machinery operation to complete farm related tasks (having a valid Driver’s Licence is a requirement of the role); ordering of feed and other livestock requirements; working with your Manager to identify and develop efficiencies in process for the farm; accurate selection and marketing of livestock; contributing to risk management, work health and safety of the team

You are practical, pragmatic and get along with people from all walks of life (who may sometimes speak English as a second language). You are at ease in working alone and you are a safe and responsible worker. You care and take care of people and animals and you are respectful. You are looking for a role where you will be an integral part of a team, working hard and efficiently, with a great work ethic.
We also have a few must-haves which are:
* Experience in farming or a similar environment/role
* Valid Driver's Licence
* Excellent communication skills and confidence to engage with team members and external suppliers
* General understanding of animals, specifically pork, and you are comfortable working hands-on, on the farm
* Works well within a team and can work to the discipline of biosecurity, QA and welfare processes
* Excellent time management skills and the flexibility to work hours required by the role, including weekend work
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
