Aromi is looking for a highly motivated and proactive Chef to join the team. The role is a full-time salary position

About Us

Aromi is a contemporary Italian restaurant located in the heart of Brighton, at 312 New St, Brighton, Vic, 3186.

The name reveals our deep connection to Italy’s food culture, one based on aromatics (herbs), with each region emphasising different herbs to enrich their local dishes.

Our farm-to-table menu is responsive not just to seasonality, but to the ‘best-of-market’ offers from our producers, providores and growers. They arrive daily with their best cheeses, prime game, seafood and market produce.

From Aromi’s own house-made bread and pasta, to the wood-smoked fish and meats in the kitchen, the love of quality produce and heritage is embodied in every taste.

About the role

This is a Full-Time position and, among others, as Chef, you will be in charge of:

· Menu planning design, costings, and stocktaking

· Menu preparation, ensuring that standard recipes are followed to ensure the consistency of the menu

· Creation of weekly specials

· Cooking and presenting food

· Implementing multiple cooking procedures

· Monitoring food quality

· Management of cleanliness within the kitchen applying workplace safety and hygiene procedures

Skills and Experience

- Relevant Certificate IV/Diploma qualification or 3 years’ work experience in lieu

- You are passionate about food and creative around menu development and food presentation

- Strong communication skills

- Leading skills

- Planning and organisational skills

- Knowledge and understanding of hygiene regulations and food safety practices

- Knowledge of food preservations techniques

- Be confident and professional in training staff

- You are hardworking and have a positive, enthusiastic attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000 per year
