Full-time Chef
Salary: $70,000 p.a. plus superannuation
Chairman and Yip Restaurant is one of the most established fine-dining Chinese restaurants in Canberra. We are currently looking for a qualified chef with experience in creating and cooking fine-dining Asian and Asian Fusion cuisines.
Job duties include:
- effectively manage all aspects of kitchen operations
- planning and creating seasonal menus
- accurate food and labour costing, and ordering food supplies
- monitoring quality and presentation of dishes at all stages
- discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
- demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures to kitchen staff
- preparing and cooking food
- explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- selecting and training staff
Skills and experience:
- relevant commercial cookery or culinary qualification
- at least 5 years of work experience in fine-dining restaurants
- must have experience in managing kitchen operations
- must have experience in creating and cooking fine-dining Asian and Asian Fusion cuisines
