Senior Automation Software Engineer

Finisar Australia is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Automation team in Sydney.
Here’s what you’ll do at Finisar:
Develop software to control automated equipment and test systems used in the manufacture of Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) modules
Integrate automated equipment with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Maintain and upgrade software used for in-process testing of WSS optical modules
Contribute to the development of software specifications for production equipment
Liaise with suppliers of OEM equipment to understand the operation and interfaces of their equipment i.e., software drivers and settings to enable the combined components to work seamlessly as a constructed/coordinated rig
Adhere to structured software release process
What we are looking for:
Essential:
Strong technical ability in the use of NI’s LabVIEW with greater than 5 years’ experience in programming in this environment
Experience in developing software for interfacing to instrumentation
Strong analytical skills with experience in signal processing or mathematical analysis
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people in all levels of the organisation
Proven experience with object-oriented programming techniques
Desirable:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
Experience in programming and selection of vision systems
Experience in programming with LabVIEW 2020 or later versions
Experience working in a high technology manufacturing environment
Experience interfacing to the Beckhoff PLC platform
