The Chief Health Officer (CHO) Division provides health leadership to the Department of Veterans Affairs. The CHO Division works collaboratively with Divisions to contribute clinical expertise across health and wellbeing policy, research, programs and services. The Health Branch, led by the Deputy Chief Health Officer, is responsible for providing evidence based advice to DVA business areas, assisting veterans and their families in gaining access to benefits within the DVA legislative framework. The CHO Support Unit (CHO SU) within the Health Branch provides administrative and divisional coordination support to the CHO Executive and Clinical Advisers engaged by DVA.
