FULL TIME VET NURSE WANTED
SYDNEY ANIMAL HOSPITALS- NORTHERN BEACHES
We are a close knit team of professionals, and we are looking for a qualified veterinary nurse to join our team. This is a full time position working 38-40 hours a week, with some weekend and public work shared with the team. Shifts and hours to be shared across both our Avalon and Newport locations.
We are a small, but well equipped and busy small animal practice that provides our clients and their pets with high standard of veterinary and client care.
We have access to orthopaedic and soft surgeons, a CT scanner as well as the usual in-house toys to keep the animals well cared for and the nurses happy!
We encourage our nurses to use their skills and develop their careers through continued education.
Nurse duties are varied and include (but not limited too) taking heart rate, respiratory rates and temperatures on patients. Assessing demeanour, pain levels, and husbandry to keep our patients happy while in hospital. Preparing animals for both surgical and medical procedures including ultrasounds, radiography, routine and advanced surgical preparation of the patient and monitoring of these patients under anaesthesia.
Our nurses all place IV catheters, take bloods, radiographs, medicate patients, run pathology and communicate with clients on patient progress.
We are looking for a qualified team member (Cert IV in Veterinary nursing or equivalent) who possesses the above skills and experience to compliment our team and assist with training our junior team members.
Salary is dependent on experience, starting at $70,000 plus benefits with regular reviews.
Both locations are incredibly close to the beach and beautiful national parks.
