FULL TIME VET NURSE WANTED
SYDNEY ANIMAL HOSPITALS- NEWTOWN
We are a friendly, fun and diverse team of professional animal lovers, and we are looking for a veterinary nurse to join our crew. This is a full time position working 40 hours a week, with some weekend and public work shared with the team.
We are a small, but well equipped and busy small animal practice that provides the community with high standard of veterinary and client care.
We have access to orthopaedic and soft surgeons, a CT scanner as well as the usual in-house toys to keep the animals well cared for and the nurses happy!
We encourage our nurses to use their skills and develop their careers through continued education.
Nurse duties are varied and include (but not limited too) taking heart rate, respiratory rates and temperatures on patients. Assessing demeanour, pain levels, and husbandry to keep our patients happy while in hospital. Preparing animals for both surgical and medical procedures including ultrasounds, radiography, routine and advanced surgical preparation of the patient and monitoring of these patients under anaesthesia.
Our nurses all place IV catheters, take bloods, radiographs, medicate patients, run pathology and communicate with clients on patient progress.
We are looking for a qualified team member (Cert IV or equivalent) who possesses the above skills and experience to compliment our team and assist with training our junior team members.
Salary is dependant on experience, starting at $70,000 plus benefits with regular reviews.
