Senior Commercial Analyst

We have a great full-time permanent opportunity for a passionate and experienced Senior Commercial Analyst to join our SIXT Australia business.  As a finance business partner for our Operations, Fleet Management and Property teams, you will play a key role in leading the analysis and reporting on activities to drive cost effective growth that will be key to SIXT achieving its ambitious growth targets.  You will work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to support strategic decision making, develop business cases as well as provide critical insights and recommendations to our various stakeholder groups. 

This role is based in the Sydney CBD.  We offer a hybrid work arrangement for you to attend our office and work from home, as required and agreed for the role.  

Your role will include, but is not limited to: 

  • Build and maintain productive and trusted working relationships and influence across the SIXT business functions  
  • Develop and contribute to business cases on new and the management of existing site locations 
  • Act as a thought-leader by identifying areas of opportunity for the business, apply critical thinking on data sets while constructively challenge findings and recommendations where necessary to maximise business outcomes 
  • Clearly articulate and present analysis, insights and recommendations to various stakeholder groups including senior management  
  • Ensure timely preparation, distribution and presentation of financial performance and key performance indicators (vs forecast and vs trends) 
  • Contribute and assist in the development of commercial benchmarks and KPIs 
  • Feed into and prepare accurate modelling and present summaries for the annual budget and forecasts 
  • Manage and prioritise own workload, as well as manage stakeholder expectations and timelines 
  • Contribute to the direct team’s success by supporting broader team activities and initiatives 
  • Develop reporting and tools to support business decision making using range of tools available (e.g. Excel, TM1, Tableau, Qlikview, Netsuite, etc.). 

What You’ll Bring 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role ideally in a medium to large organisation 
  • CA / CPA qualified (preferred, but not essential) 
  • Strong commercial and business acumen 
  • Strong data analysis, modelling and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail 
  • Agile approach with the ability to adapt to shifting business requirements, processes and priorities 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and business partnering skills across operation teams and senior management 
  • Sound P&L experience 
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills including being able to tailor communications to make the complex simple and be adaptive to various levels of commercial savvy throughout the business 
  • Proactive and the ability to take initiative with a focus on continuous improvement 
  • Experience using financial systems and Business Intelligence tools in a commercial environment (e.g. TM1, Tableau, Qlikview, etc.) while also being able to learn any new systems and databases quickly  
  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • SQL programming language skills (advantageous, but not essential)
