Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for up to two Accountants (ANZSCO 221111) and/or Tax Accountants (ANZSCO 221113) with a minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience to join our professional accounting team. We have permanent positions available in our regional offices including Esperance on a full-time basis.

Byfields is the largest WA based CPA firm with 12 Directors and over 100 staff. We operate through seven offices, with the head office located in Belmont, and rural offices in Northam, Merredin, Narrogin, Wagin, York and Esperance.
We specialise in providing major accounting services to broad acre farmers and work with some of the larger grain growers in WA.

Our clients
We manage clients located throughout the Western Australian Wheatbelt region from as far as Esperance across to Broome and the Great Southern region, supporting them with all aspects of their businesses.
Your day-to-day duties will involve, but are not limited to:
• Obtaining source documents from clients
• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts and partnerships including bank account and GST reconciliations.
• Preparation of individual tax returns
• Preparation and lodgement of activity statements
• Assist with the preparation of taxation estimates.
• Use of accounting software including but not limited to MYOB, Xero, Reckon Accounts and Cashflow Manager to extract data for the purpose of preparing the necessary reports and documents.
• Assist and liaise with other team members with regards to workflows and client queries.
• Providing assistance with research into special taxation topics and general accounting topics as required.
• Assist with the preparation of trust resolutions, dividend minutes and other secretarial work as required.
• Liaising with the ATO and client with regards to various compliance obligations
• Other duties as directed, in line with the scope and level of the position

The ideal candidate will have:
• Public practice experience ideally
• Accounting degree
• Have or working towards CPA, CA qualification
• Client facing experience desirable
• High attention to detail
• Solid technical skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to follow defined processes and systems
• A National Police Clearance (NPC)

What you’ll need to succeed
Excellent communication and time management skills, strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and equally as part of a team.
An interest or background in agriculture is also highly desirable as we specialise in providing major accounting services to broad acre farmers and country/rural clients.

The salary banding is $70,000 - $75,000 per annum plus superannuation.
