The Information Access Unit (IAU) within the Ministerial Engagement and Communications Division responsible for the management and processing of requests for information made under the Freedom of Information Act , Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act , Military Rehabilitation Compensation Act , Privacy Act and certain administrative access arrangements. Additionally, the IAU manages and processes responses to subpoenas and other notices to produce information from regulatory agencies. Duties
Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team
Manage complex personal and non-personal information access matters under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act.
Analyse, integrate and evaluate information to make decisions on complex matters.
