We are a traditional Korean BBQ restaurant located in Glen Waverley of Melbourne and provide Korean foods to the general public. We are currently looking for highly motivated and proactive Sous Chef to join our team on a salaried basis.
About the Position
As an Sous Chef, you will be responsible for cook & serving meals, creating new menus, and in charge of the kitchen while the head chef is absent. You will be responsible for the quality production of all meals and food services to customers as well as ensuring that the kitchen workflow and service flow as well.
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be confident in their skills, motivated to perform, and will need to demonstrate:
· Strong knowledge of Korean cooking techniques
· Uncompromising attitude towards high food quality, presentation and safety
· Strong communication skills and grace under pressure, and
· Excellent planning skills and the ability to think on your feet
· Maintain the quality of food;
· Order or buy vegetables or meats and other ingredients for cook;
· Obtain feedback from the customers regarding food if necessary;
· Improve taste & quality of food, if necessary, based upon the customers’ feedback;
· Control the staff and making roster on weekly basis
· Organise all food procedures;
· Have at least 3 years of experience as a Chef
· Have Australian work rights
You should have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar position. A certification IV in Commercial Cookery and a Diploma in Hospitality or above in Hospitality Management are preferred.
The Korean language speaker is preferred because most of our clients have Korean speaking background but is not essential.
Salary: $70,000.00 (Salary will be determined depending on the candidate’s skills and work experience).
